 A Fitness trainer is a person who provides personal training services to people of varying ages and fitness levels. A Fitness trainer can be a member of a health club, fitness center, or a private individual.

Many fitness trainers supervise other members of their group in performing exercises and work closely with them to customize an exercise program suited for a specific person’s needs. Personal trainers are also known as sports coaches.

Fitness trainers and instructors motivate, guide, teach, and encourage people or groups in various exercise activities, such as strength training (exercises designed to build muscle strength and decrease body fat), cardiovascular exercises (to reduce high blood pressure), and flexibility training (to increase range of motion). 

They also work closely with individuals of all ages and ability levels. In a sense, the Fitness trainer is responsible for determining an individual’s personal fitness goals and working towards achieving those goals. When Fitness trainers are properly motivated, they have a powerful influence on an individuals performance and motivation. It is believed that Fitness trainers can have an immediate impact on improving an individual’s self esteem.

In a nutshell, Fitness trainers have two main roles: providing information and designing exercise programs. The information they provide to the public consists of information on different types of exercises and their benefits, precautions, safety practices, and recommended frequency of workouts.

In addition, they design the appropriate workouts using a well thought out progression plan for clients. These programs must be tailored to each clients goals and needs. These programs must also be monitored regularly by the Fitness trainer to ensure the clients are getting the proper amount of exercises.

Fitness trainers are typically hired when a person has decided to get in shape and needs personalized training. Hiring a personal fitness trainer is a lot less expensive than enrolling at a gym. 

The personal trainers are able to design customized workout routines and provide feedback on the amount of workouts needed to achieve desired results. They are also able to instruct people to do specific exercises in ways that will be most effective for them.

When individuals are trying to get in shape, a personal trainer can become an essential piece in their overall fitness plan. A good personal trainer is highly skilled at identifying the proper way to combine cardiovascular, strength, stretching, flexibility, and aerobic training.

They are also trained in nutritional assessment, medical history, diagnostic testing, exercise testing, medical history, and the prevention or management of injury. Some trainers are even licensed to conduct therapeutic exercise as part of the program.

A good personal training program should include instruction in aerobics, yoga, stretching, balance and coordination, resistance training and total body conditioning. A good fitness trainer should also be familiar with equipment such as treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, weight benches, skipping ropes, rowing machines, barbells, dumbbells, balance boards, medicine balls, strain gauges, tape measures, and other exercise equipment.

 A good trainer should have sufficient knowledge regarding safety, including CPR and first aid techniques. A good trainer should be willing to offer advice to clients on all aspects of fitness and injury prevention. They should encourage clients to go for a walk or bike riding classes, instead of using the local gym.

Some fitness trainers work as gym instructors, while others work independently. Instructors can provide additional knowledge in specific areas beyond what clients learn in fitness classes. These instructors may specialize in specific sports or exercise movements. Some instructors teach basic exercises through books and DVDs, while others have extensive knowledge of the proper form and application of exercises taught in fitness classes.

Once you have your own home gym, you can see clients anywhere you go. You will have a continuous supply of potential clients, because they will bring their friends with them to see their new workout routine. This is the main advantage of having your own home business and working from home.

When you are away from your home and office, you have no one to answer to but yourself. You can be more flexible with your work schedule and see clients whenever you want. You can make your own schedule, set your own prices, and decide when you will work and when you will not.
