All You Need To Know About Website Designs And Its Types

A successful website designer ensures that the visitor can easily find the information he came for. The design must be such that the information is emotionally appealing, structurally functional and visually pleasing. In addition to satisfying the visitor, the site design must also be attractive to search engines so that they will rank the site at the top of search results.

It is very difficult to satisfy both humans and search engines, as they both have different requirements. The trick is to incorporate the requirements of both into a website design that is approved by both humans and search engines.

Websites come in three types, namely static, dynamic or CMS and e-commerce sites. The choice of the type of website design depends on the type of business and the requirements of the owners. Each of these website designs can be built on different platforms. Read on to learn more about each type of website design and the platforms used.

1. Static Website Design

When you only need a few pages on your website and you don’t want the information to change, a static design is the best choice. The information on a static site stays the same and does not change over time. Static sites are created in HTML and CSS.

They are very easy to develop and are easily indexed by search engines. However, they are weak when it comes to performing complex tasks. Another major disadvantage is that static sites have to be updated manually, which is a tedious and monotonous task.

2. Dynamic CMS website design

A dynamic website design can provide dynamic information. This means that according to the changes that occur, the site information is automatically updated based on some criteria. A dynamic website design is usually built on content management platforms like WordPress, Joomla, etc.

The only drawback is that this type of site is difficult to build and is not easily indexed by search engines. The different CMS platforms on which these dynamic websites are built are the following

- Drupal - Built and used by a lot of very active people in the world, Drupal is an open source content management platform. It is a free system that can be used to build any type of website.

- Joomla- This is a very popular content management system used mainly by individuals, small businesses and large organizations. It is very easy to create a website using Joomla as a platform.

- WordPress - The easiest and most convenient platform, WordPress is also free. You will find many plugins that will allow you to have the website of your dreams. WordPress is very easy to use and you can also edit the information on the website without being an HTML guru.

3. E-commerce website

If you are running an online business and the website involves sales, you may want to consider an e-commerce website. A good platform stays uncluttered and helps you take care of all the technical aspects of the site. There are plenty of e-commerce platforms to choose from. A few of them are listed below.

- Magneto - If you are a beginner and intend to start selling online, magneto is a good choice. Free, Magneto is open source and therefore has several extensions. Magneto is also SEO ready, so you are guaranteed to have very little work to do.

- OsCommerce - A very popular platform that is easy to set up and use. This popularity makes it a very common platform, which is a drawback. However, in order to make your website using OsCommerce unique, you have a number of add-ons that can easily do the trick.

- OpenCart- This is a free platform that has the advantage of being able to sell an unlimited number of products in a number of categories.

- Volusion- Although it has a small starting price, Volusion has a good collection of templates. The downside is that it is a hosted service and can go down at any time.

There are many other e-commerce platforms like shopify, virtuemart, zeuscart, zencart, etc. Choosing one of these wonderful platforms ensures that your website works as expected.

The type of website design needed should be decided only after the business owner has done extensive research. The design should be able to meet the requirements of the website owner with ease. If you don’t like to be disturbed by the website once it is created and finished, the static type is for you.

On the contrary, if you plan to add a blog to your website and update new articles from time to time, the dynamic website is what you will benefit from.
